Tuesday's Crafty Project

Hello, it’s Tuesday at What’s Scrapping and time for a crafty project. This canvas will add fun to your home décor along with the perfect way to display multiple photos in small spaces. You can create more than one canvas to decorate your children’s room. Involve your kids by having them pick out their favorite photos to be displayed, they will LOVE it! I used a 16X20 canvas from a local craft store. I painted the canvas using acrylic paint with a medium sponge brush. You will need to do multiple coats. Make sure it is completely dry before starting another coat. In order to have a more dramatic look, I opted for large flower stems and crystal picks from the craft store, rather than scrapbook embellishments. First, I placed the jewel picks as the base of the flowers and attached them with a hot glue gun. Next, you will need to cut off the flowers and leaves before gluing them down. I matted four 5x7 photos before gluing them into place. I used white chipboard letters and placed them to display my daughters age at the time the photos were taken. Finally, the butterflies were punched with a MS all over punch in purple glitter paper and attached randomly. Thank you for looking I hope you have enjoyed this project by Denise from Simply Create Designs!!

Sunday Wall Art 3-27-11

Good morning everyone....today is Sunday...so, that means it's time for some more wall art.....
Today I'd like to share "Home Sweet Home" with you.....

Super cute, right? And it was pretty easy to put together.....(FYI, I used the "Enjoy The Little Things" kit from Scraptastic Club)

So first I chose my CS - blue, then I chose my PP for the frame which I cut out with my Cricut cutter. I used my Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro to glue down the frame. I positioned my clouds where I wanted them, on the white and blue clouds I used some of my AC dimensional foam tabs. I then used my MS 3-1 butterfly punch for the butterflies, the small butterflies are just glued down on the page, but on the larger butterflies I used some more of my foam tabs. For the grass behind the fence I just cut up small strips of brown and green PP and then glued them all down. I purchased the picket fences a while ago at JoAnn's and I painted them white and used some foam tabs to get them on the page. I glued the buttons on the fence for some added color, and added some quilled flowers behind the fence.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!

Mini Tutorial

Good Morning! My name is Angie Gutshall and I'm excited to be a contributor to What's Scrapping! I little bit about me: I have 4 kids and have been married to my sweetheart for 10 years. I'm currently on the DT for Sweet Peach Crop Shop. I love to scrap and I don't only do layouts; I enjoy making canvas, mini albums, cards, and altering anything I can :)

Today I have a mini album tutorial for you. I sat down this week and worked on the measurements for this so I could share it with you. This would make a great "brag" book for grandparents or a nice little mini to send to someone.

Here it is open.

Here it is with the flaps open.

Here is close up of one of the pictures.

First cut your paper 12 x 4 inches. Score paper at 3 1/2, 3 1/2, and 1 1/2.

Then cut your flaps 3 x 7 inches and fold in half.

Then adhere the flaps between the scores.

Then cut a piece 7 x 1 inches for your band that goes around it.

Last just add pictures and embellishments. The bigger/thicker the embellsihment the harder to close. So place them where they won't hit each other when closing ;)
Thanks for having me!

It's card Sketch time!

Hi everyone, Dalis here! I have been paper crafting for well over 15+ years. In the mids of paper crafting mostly card making I started scrapbooking and now I am into digital and hybrid arts. I started paper crafting thanks to my big sister and she is the one a bit mortified that I am doing digi and not using my huge stage of paper.

I am here to bring you a card sketch every Wednesday. Use it to inspire you to sit down and create a card and use that paper stash that you have been accumulating.

It's Tuesday at WHAT'S SCRAPPING!!

Time for a little crafty inspiration..
Hello, my name is Denise from Simply Create Designs and I am so excited to be a part of What’s Scrapping!! I have a passion for paper, ribbon, and bling! As I child I enjoyed making all types of crafts, however my passion grew when I began designing everything for my own wedding. I LOVED every minute of it and could not wait to plan the next event!! I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, Michael and we have 4 amazing kids.

With spring and Easter approaching I could not resist creating these adorable Egg Place Card Holders.

To make these, I started with very large buttons as the base. I glued a medium size flower to the top of each button. Feel free to mix and match colors, be creative, anything goes! Then, I attached paper mache eggs to each flower (you can purchase already painted eggs or use acrylic paint in spring colors). I decorated each egg with a flower from my scrapbooking stash and some butterflies from the local craft store. In the center, I inserted a memo pin holder. Place a name card in each memo pin or a wallet size photo of your kids and that’s it! Now you have the perfect centerpieces to decorate your spring table!! I hope you enjoyed this project and I’d love for you to visit me at http://www.simplycreatedesigns.etsy.com/

Sunday's Wall Art 3/20/11

Hello......Good morning!!!!!! (Thought I'd through out a little song that's stuck in my head.) I'm Jessica Carter the owner of Scraptastic Club and I'm so super excited to be a part of the What's Scrapping? team! I'm a wife to a wonderful chef, and mom to two amazing and crazy kids!!! I work full time, besides owning the kit club, at an accounting office, and I also still have a good bit of my own bookkeeping business as well! Whew, saying that all at one time makes me realize how much I do.....oh well, such is life!

So, I thought that my new scrap room/office needed some cheering up so I made some wall art that I'd like to share with you today.........

I used a piece of the chipboard that I use as backing for shipping my kits.
Then I cut out a 4" circle for the base of my sun, then I glued down orange and yellow buttons inside the circle. I then cut strips of the same paper in different sizes and curled the ends a bit, then used my Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro to put them down. I had some pearls that I decided to add to the sun's rays. I then took a doily from MME Stella and Rose which I cut to use as my rolling hills, I pulled up the edges to give my hills a little added dimension. And last, but not least, I added some butterflies and hand stitched their trails with a fine tip sharpie!!!

Thanks for stopping by.....
